Whether you lack motivation, like me sometimes, or you want education and preparation skills I want be inspiring.

The following are a few tips. Read and be inspired. Learn something new and get closer to the healthier 2010 you desire.  Please leave your tips and keep the list growing.

Ø      Whole foods are healthier than processed foods. Maybe obviously to some, a whole apple, banana or orange packs more nutritional value than a fruit roll-up.

Ø      Every vegetable is not like the other. Dark, vibrant vegetables pack the most vitamins into each bite. Choose nutrient dense vegetables to experiment with. Pumpkin, broccoli, kale, and sweet potatoes are the king of vegetables.

Ø      Fresh is usually preferred to canned vegetables. However, not with tomatoes.  Canned tomatoes and especially tomatoes paste is rich in lycopene. This powerful antioxidant helps protect skin from signs of aging. It’s healthy for your heart too. Break out that can opener and use up some tomoatoes.

Ø      Want a creamy soup without watching your hips grow? Substitute evaporated milk for cream. It packs a powerfully creamy richness but only has half the calories and a quarter of the fat.

Ø      Incorporate beans into your New Year’s diet. They are loaded with nutrition and protein. A healthy substitute for steak or pork once a week. They’ll ease the strain on the budget too. Rinse canned beans before using in a recipe to remove added sodium.

Ø      Start your day with oatmeal and a berry shake. Oats lower cholesterol and keep the heart healthy. Berries are filled with antioxidants. Blueberries and other small dark berries are the crown jewel of healthy berry eating. Vanilla soy milk, frozen mixed berries and your choice of sugar substitute make a delicious shake.

Ø      Everyone know, but its worth repeating. Loose weight by decreasing calories and increasing exercise.
