There are three safe ways to thaw a freezer meal. 
   1. In the refrigerator.
   2. In a cold waterbath.
   3. In the microwave.
     (Anything thawed in the microwave should be cooked immediately.)

The question arises, "how can I get the meal out of the bag to microwave it?"  No one wants melted plastic bag as an extra ingredient, so microwaving in the bag is not a good idea. Snip the bag a place food into a microwavable safe dish. Problem solved.
